Ready to Read: Rising K-2

Class Description

Ready to Read is a fun and interactive course designed for children aged 5 to 7 who are emerging readers. In this course, participants will explore strategies for engaging in the reading process and developing their literacy skills. The course will cover the basics of early literacy, including phonological awareness, letter recognition, and comprehension skills; it will include hands-on activities, games, and demonstrations to make learning engaging and fun. Participants will have opportunities to practice implementing the strategies and techniques covered in the course, and receive feedback and support from the instructor and their peers. Upon completion of this course, participants will be equipped with a toolkit of effective reading strategies and resources that they can use to continue developing their literacy skills and love for reading. July 17-20, Monday-Thursday, 11am-12:30pm $300 (Once you register, we will send you an invoice that you can use for payment from Learning Acceleration Grant or pay self pay directly to Beacon.) The fee also includes a individual pre-course parent meeting to discuss goals for your child.
